Busy periods can lead to longer wait times, which some guests find challenging. While the service remains friendly, the influx of diners can sometimes test the staff. Additionally, there's a concern regarding closing for the first two weeks in January, which may disrupt plans for those wanting to visit. Some regulars may wish for a broader menu selection, although the current offerings are already varied and flavorful. Finally, while the parking is available, finding a spot during peak hours may require a bit of patience.
My wife and I recently had our anniversary meal here. We both had fantastic meals which were beautifully presented. Service was top notch. If you are in the area, we highly recommend a visit.
We weren’t in a hurry so we came here instead of the services on the A1. What a gem! The service was absolutely brilliant. They paid such attention to giving us a good experience! And the food was phenomenal. We really weren’t expecting it to be more than the usual pub classics. I had the trio of fish and my wife had the trio of duck. Everything was amazing. We will definitely be back!
Our friends invited us for a lunch time meal and said trust us, it's amazing and it 100% is! My 11y son has a serious food allergy, they not only ensured the food was safe but went out of their way to reasure us and my son. On top of that the food was excellent. I can not recommend here enough. We will be back and soon!!!
Just had an amazing meal. Very varied menu (I had the duck) and lovely staff. A wonderful evening and would definitely recommend. We were staying at the pheasant hill campsite and it was an easy walk away.
Beautiful country pub, parking at the front and rear. Outside area for fresh air customers. Food execellent ,good choice of beers and very reasonably priced. Very friendly helpful staff. A must visit if your in the area.
One of the areas little gems - I have been here for lunch just me and my husband, mid week dinner as a family, weekend evenings with girlfriends, Sunday lunch with family including grandparents. It really does tick all the boxes - for lovely food at a good price this place is perfect! The service is always amazing the only criticism I have is that sometimes it’s too fast between courses but that is in no way a criticism - I love food!! Just keep it coming 😂 Lovely and fresh, beautiful presentation and just all round proper place! Love it. The Sunday lunch is exceptional!!! Hits the spot every time and the croquette potatoes are divine!! For anyone going - which you should it’s great, I would just note 2 things to first time visitors, 1) book ahead 2) don’t arrive too early as there isn’t a bar area as such to have a drink before you eat, on a warm day there is outside covered seating but inside is limited - so just so you know really ! Amazing team work and please don’t ever close be cause we love it here ❤️❤️
Wow. Fabulous evening with Vince the SuperHost! The food was incredible, and we felt genuinely that nothing was too much trouble. Cannot wait to go back, thanks Vince and team. Paul and Clare
